Passionate about cars since I was very young. I am far from being a mechanic. I am a software engineers but I always find time to go to the garage after hanging out with my kids.
I ended up with a lot of cars and those are the current family members

Do you recommend starting a fully build engine with the factory ecu or put an aftermarket ecu first?
Either way. I believe the fully built engine with OEM ECU won't give you much power. Installing an aftermarket ECU with the OEM engine will just give you so much until you cannot tune up anymore because of the size of the OEM injectors. ECU first might give you some smiles though

@@aaronsg71 yes absolutely. I've been running water on my Supra since I built it without issues.

Nice, I have a 4 door with a gte sub, fully kitted out the cylinder head so far, 272 BC cams ss valves and retainers, arp bolts all around, used the GE pistons with gte rods and pushing 550 on the wheels, next step will be forged rods and pistons then 4 bolt main caps. Should be golden. Also still running 95 pump on 14 to 15 psi of boost, looking to double that as soon as the rods etc are done and I can get my hands on some e85 to retune. Hoping for around 800whp after I am done. But anyways nice build can see you built her right from the start.
@@MrNella853 you have a nice setup. What you want to do is what I have now except for the 272 cams. Can't get e85 here though so I'm running 92 pump. In the Supra I add octane booster which should take me to 97. 800hp is my goal on the Supra but for this BMW 2JZ 533 is plenty .

So I've followed ur videos for a few here and commented a few times. I've made it to the stage of replacing the crankshaft gear here. Where could I purchase a new one at? I've searched all over. No luck though. Am I up shits creek?

Might want to re filter year make and model to be sure and call them to double check. I don't know those guys though. @letsgame4224 mine was all hard but I've seen people pushing with their fingers when it's not full of oil inside. So I would say softer without oil inside but still hard to push

hey you can drive down here and fix my RS for me it seems to need new piston rings and I don't have the tools to take the engine out D; lol but I'm having to sell it due to that reason haha so sad my first car I've had since 2014 or so but the BMW looking pretty swweeeeeetttt as always brother stay dirty and drive save
@@justsumday2010 sad you gotta sell it brother! It's never fun to take the engine out. I gotta just lift mine from the eclipse just to replace the timing belt but I haven't been brave enough 😕
Tighten to specs bruh. Locktite doesn't hurt, especially on non-stock cars.
@@MrAsddasdasda man it's such a pain to fit any wrench down there. It would be easier if I had a buddy to help so he could hand brake I would tighten one and we would keep doing it until all we're done.
@@CarModsGarage if you have vented discs just stick a screwdriver in there to hold the axle stationary.

Only comment is when opening the brakes up it is usually recommended to crack the brake fluid bleeder line. Brake pads will go back easier and there is no risk of damaging the ABS sensor. I've done it like this video and have also opened the bleeder to push breaks open and then reclosed bleeder. Never personally had a problem either way. Just telling you what most mechanics recommend.
I was always worried that it could get air in the line then you need to bleed the brakes. I'll try that next time and see but I'm sure you are right it will take some the pressure off and make it easier to push them back in . Thanks for the comment
